Autumn/Winter 2023 textile novelties: Checks.
You read well: the check is back! Although it is a timeless wardrobe essential, there are seasons that it returns stronger, as is the case here.
And if that wasn't enough, it comes in its two most classic versions: tartan check and Chanel style.
On the one hand, the college aesthetic is back, with that tartan or Wales check that we love so much. Whether in a total look, a coat, a tailored suit or an XL scarf.
Besides, the Chanel style is also back, with its classic (or classic-inspired) check and classic cut.
Consequently, at Ravial this year we are incorporating a whole range of new products; the latest in frames.
Undergarment
These are all those fabrics that allow us to make dresses, trousers or suits.
Outer garment
This winter the streets will be full of check jackets and coats. Let's discover Ravial's proposals for this season:
Imitation wool/ Chanel
Also known as tweel (a mixture of tweed and twill),the name "Chanel fabric" became famous around the 1920s thanks to the famous fashion designer Coco Chanel. It is also thanks to her that it is attributed with this characteristic of a sophisticated fabric, always present in high fashion.
It is a fabric that comes from Scottish culture and means "cross weave", as the weaving of the threads creates a unique and irregular appearance. Thus, thanks to the use of different types of yarns and fibres, it gives the fabric a voluminous and strong appearance (as well as flexible and fluffy), ideal for coats and suits.
Vaguilla
Also known as vaguilla cloth,it is a soft, warm fabric commonly used in the manufacture of warm garments. Due to its composition of wool or wool blend, warm garments made of vaguilla are ideal for protection from the cold.
A soft and pleasant to the touch,it is a fabric that provides comfort and warmth, while its strength ensures long-lasting durability.Often used for making coats, jackets and scarves.
Welsh
Also known as tartan, this pattern is traditionally associated with Scottish culture, but has been exported by fashion to become a universal pattern.
It consists of horizontal and vertical lines making squares of different colours. Traditionally, each check pattern has a name and a story behind it and is often used to make skirts, kilts and scarves.
As for its application in prêt-à-porter fashion, its versatility makes it a popular choice for clothing such as skirts, trousers, jackets and scarves. Tartan brings a touch of sophistication and style to outfits, whether it's in to outfits, whether it's a casual look or a more elegant one. Its combination of colours and geometric lines creates an interesting visual effect that attracts attention and adds personality to any outfit.
Houndstooth print
We finish this selection of prints with a new houndstooth..
Houndstooth is a two-colour design or type of pattern characterised by the repetition of small abstract four-pointed figures similar to split squares.
Woollen Fabrics
Although it is true that in our country we do not need large quantities of wool in the composition of our garments, any small amount of wool will give the garment a more pleasant and noble feel to the garment.
These 10% wool fabrics provide softness and comfort, ideal for making cosy jackets and coats.
